Awarded: 9/10 | March 2010 - Cryo Quad i5 "A stunning gaming machine that should define the shortlist for the discerning buyer.", PC Format, March 2010 At Cryo we were fortunate to get hold of a few rare early samples of new HD5870 cards from the nice people at HIS. So we took the opportunity to get one over to the enthusiastic guys at PC Format. Here's a few snippets of what PC Format had to say: - "Extreme performance can be surprisingly subtle..."
- "We simply can't help but think there's some dark art at play when system builders manage to squeeze so much out of a chip that officially runs at 2.67GHz [the quad runs at 4.1GHz or 4.3GHz BIOS profile selectable]."
- "Once you hook up a decent screen the Cryo Quad is an absolute beast. Any title you'd care to throw at its way is going to be gobbled up and it produces eye-soothing frame rates at the most ridiculously high settings."
- "A thoroughbred...demonstrating superb build quality throughout."
- "...4.1GHz - the fastest we've seen so far..."
- "Your hard earned £1,139 nets you the pinnacle of performance graphics..."
- "Truly amazing overclocked chip."
- "Excellent build quality."

Awarded: | January 2010 - Cryo Nano Eager to take a look at our popular mini power house we gave PC Advisor the all new Core i5 and ATI HD5850 combination with the special carbon finish of course. Here are a few extracts form the review: - "The Cryo PC Nano is quite a feat in PC construction - a very fast, relatively compact and even rather quiet performance PC."
- "British performance PC specialist Cryo PC seems to have got around all these issues, though. Its created a very fast, relatively compact and even rather quiet PC, dubbed the Cryo PC Nano. It's quite a feat in PC construction."
- "Our first graphics test is something of a walkover for any recent graphics card, but for the record the Cryo PC Nano hit an average of 321 frames per second in the FEAR game at Maximum quality settings. We reset screen resolution from 1024x768 to the game's highest of 1600x1200, where it still sprung along at an all-too sprightly 174fps."
- "Crysis gives modern PCs a steeper challenge. Configured with our basic test of 1024x768, DirectX 9 at High quality, the Nano sailed through at 94fps."
- "So with the Cryo PC Nano's gaming credentials not just checked but applauded, we gave the Nano a workout with our Worldbench 6 performance benchmark. And were astonished to find a final score of 162 points, a full 10 points clear of the fastest system we've tested in the past."
- "Extremely high performance, reasonable pricing, excellent build quality and quiet operation are most uncommon bedfellows. But in the Cryo PC Nano we see all these worthy attributes combined into a PC that’s impossible not to recommend. A splendid package deserving of very close attention"

Base don the Origen AE S16T case, Xonar HDAV1.3 sound, 6TB of RAID storage (approx 3000hrs of SD video content) and nVidia 9600GT graphics for decoding and up-scaling. Extracts from the review: - "Many manufacturers have tried to crack the Media Centre PC, but we have found the coolest system yet"
- "Built to Rock"
- "Cryo's HTPC is an impressive multimedia system that doesn't make the mistake of trying to supplant your existing multichannel amplification system; it would fit nicely into a hi-fi rack, adding the sophistication of touch panel control."
- "In terms of performance it rivals anything you could expect from a Blu-ray player, and, of course, gives full access to BD-Live functions via your network"
| | November 2009 - Cryo Quad (Core i5)The Guru's of components and systems reviews EliteBastards were kind enough to express an interest in our new Core i5 line up of entry to mid-level systems. We sent them over a Cryo Quad with an i5 750 turned up to the max. Here's some of what they had to say about it: - "...the Cryo Quad system which landed on our doorstep proved to be a fast, very well specified and excellently configured system which lived up to all of its expectations as a blazingly fast Core i5-based PC which uses every ounce of the overclocking headroom of said processor and architecture."
- "With a two year return to base warranty, and plenty of attention to detail on show in the system's setup, there's plenty to like about what Cryo are offering here..."
- "...we can really confirm is that our Cryo Quad build was absolutely, 100% stable at all times throughout our testing, even when stress testing both CPU and GPU for a considerable period of time simultaneously."
- "CineBench gives us a look at the raw power of the overclocked Core i5 CPU, with a fantastic multi-threaded result in particular matching up with what we'd expect from our system's 4GHz clock speed."
- "[H264 encoding] The first pass of this encoding application is the simplest of the two, and the Cryo Quad simply breezes through it"
- "[Paint.Net]Cryo's offering breezes through this benchmark in no time, posting some excellent numbers once again."
- "[Left 4 Dead] The Cryo Quad could probably handle this title in standby mode in all honesty (okay, maybe not, but still...) given the numbers it serves up here, dishing out performance of over two hundred and fifty frames per second on average and making light work of this game."
- "[Crysis Warhead] Close to a sixty frames per second average is simply fantastic for this title, giving you probably the single most playable in-game experience I've seen served up using this particular title."
- "What this leaves us with is a vast amount of performance on tap for any intensive job you'd wish to task this system with, from gaming to video encoding, while thankfully the system's configuration also allows the Quad to run in a far more power and noise-friendly mode when it isn't being pushed hard in terms of number crunching "
| | November 2009 - Cryo Nano (Core i7)Following the positive feedback and remarks regarding the finish we'd put on our Dream PC we decide to make 'Graphite Finish' carbon fibre look available on all machines. At the same time we were ready to launch the new update Cryo Nano with i5 and i7 enhanced cooling option with an adapted Corsair H50 cooler. We were stunned by its look and performance, the question was would others think likewise so we gave it to one of the most well respected reviewers in the field Allan Campbell at DriverHeaven.Extracts from the review: - "if we were being perfectly honest we would say this system blew us away."
- "The attention to care and detail throughout - from the hand picked D0 stepping 920 CPU to the enhanced fan selection and custom carbon fibre chassis reassured us that these guys know exactly what they are doing and they know how to make it sexy looking into the bargain."
- "We think this system is killer value"
- "they really do know system building and have produced the fastest small form factor PC we have tested in our labs...by a long shot."
In the end it seems DriverHeaven were as stunned as we were awarding it a record 49/50 points in review and 10/10 overall with the prestigious Gold Award. Calling it 'The Ultimate SFF [small form factor] PC'. | Cryo Tetrad Awarded | October 2009 - Cryo Tetrad Workstation Digital Arts put our Tetrad through its paces setup as an entry level 3D graphics workstation: - "The Cryo Tetrad has a modest chassis that hides a lot of power – and it won’t break the bank, either."
- "The Tetrad’s score of over 20,000 was very impressive indeed."
- "In our Cinebench rendering test though, which is based entirely on processor power, the Tetrad was over 10 per cent faster than the F3."
- "Good performance. Great components; low cost."
| | October 2009 - Cryo Graphite (Dream PC 2009) In 2009 Custom PC magazine challenged us as one of the few selected Custom PC suppliers to enter their Dream PC competition. Though we knew we had no time to come up with anything significantly different than our existing product line up we used the Velox design as our base and went for a system that would win on performance and innovation if not a beauty competition. The Cryo Graphite with carbon fibre finish was the end result. Check it out in detail here.Extracts from the review: - "Brutally fast..."
- "Cryo PC has been able to massively overclock the CPU...270MHz higher than any other Dream PC"

| May 2009 - Cryo Tetrad In May 2009 Custom PC magazine reviewed our mid range air cooled desktop the Cryo Tetrad which apparently is 'much faster than it has any right to be'. - "We began our tests with the Media Benchmarks. The Tetrad excelled here, recording an overall score of 2,038 - this is the first sub £2000 PC to exceed 2,000 points at default speeds."
- "Clearly, Cryo PC's meticulous tweaking throughout the Tetrad's BIOS worked."
- "The Tetrad was even able to run Crysis at 1920x1200 with 4x AA, producing a playable minimum frame rate of 25fps. Again, this is the sort of performance we would expect from a £10,000 Dream PC rather than a sub £2000 air cooled system"
- "Cryo PC's extensive tweaks have produced more than we'd thought possible"
- "The level of performance marks this out as a high-end PC"
