The Cryo Velox takes the technology and performance of the Core i7 six core processor to the max and beyond.  This is a PC for those who are looking for an absolute no compromise performance, a machine with real pedigree that will benchmark in the very top tier of scores. With the Intel Core i7 980 its now capable of clock speeds in excess of 5GHz!

It just isn't technically possible to get this much performance without very efficient and effective water cooling so we include this in the price.  The Cryo Velox is the choice for emerging power hungry games, simulations and graphical and mathematical modelling.  You can rest assured no standard PC will match the performance of this machine for a number of years to come. Pictured right is the Velox with Phase Change sub-zero (-50C) cooling fitted underneath for the ultimate in high performance computing.

Cryo Advantage - The Cryo Velox X58 continues the pedigree of the Core 2 version of the Cryo Velox in providing a high-performance custom built pc for professionals or gaming.

At the heart of the design is the Intel® Core™ i7 Extreme CPU and almost uniquely support for both ATI® CrossFire™ and NVIDIA® SLI™ multi-GPU technology. Partnered with the new Intel X58 chipset and low latency DDR3 memory at up speeds up to and in excess of 2GHz the little air-cooled brother to the Velox, the Tetrad, has achieved record benchmarks as one of the fastest desktop PC’s (see Custom PC Benchmark Leaderboard). As with all our other models its powerful components are enshrined within the luxury cool brushed aluminium Lian-Li B71 case. The B71 is one of the coolest and quietest cases available and is designed for the professional with acoustically dampened panels, hot swap drive bays and lots of room for upgrades. Leading Edge Technology - The Intel Core i7 processors bring the unmatched power of up to six processing cores and HyperThreading together creating effectively twelve threads of concurrent execution capacity.

The Core i7 is already proving itself to be the world’s fastest CPU. It achieves this with its completely new cache architecture and on-chip integrated memory controller. This new design allows memory bandwidth to release the full potential of the processing power of four high-speed cores beyond that offered by its predecessor the Core 2. The CPU’s throughout the Core i7 range respond better than ever to Cryo Boost™ Triple Overclocking and Optimisation with the high end Extreme edition CPU achieving close to or in excess of the magic 5GHz clock speeds. With extreme cooling performance can reach the theoretical limits of the technology.

Extreme Cooling - All this power and additional circuitry on the one CPU comes at a high price in terms of heat produced and power consumed. The Velox accommodates this with even at the entry level enhanced Extreme Water cooling to quietly and efficiently cool the processor. The triple radiator is mounted in the top of the case and cooled through three 120mm blow holes. The half inch, high flow, high pressure pumped water loop ensures all vital components stay cool. If additional graphics cards are selected its possible to add an additional heat exchanger (i.e. a requirement for high heat output of Dual GTX480 SLI).  Electing for Phase cooling systems will only offer you an even higher performance headroom.

High Performance Graphics - Crossfire or SLI - Both nVidia and ATI are offering compelling and powerful graphics solutions and the Velox comes standard with the world’s fastest dual Crossfire GPU graphics in the form of the ATI HD5970.

For applications and games that can really get the benefit of two GPU's there is no card to match the ATI Radeon HD5970. We have provided all ATI and nVidia graphics cards as options for you to select as you prefer. You can choose to not only double but triple or even quadruple your graphics power and deliver higher frame rates, faster rendering times and more realistic PC gaming and 3D environments. For fully immersive graphics supporting the highest resolution, DirectX 11, physics processing and anti-aliasing. For the folding enthusiasts the cards can also enhance folding power by as much as over 10,000 ppd.

64-bit Ready - Already the 4GB limit imposed by 32-bit operating systems is looking very limiting especially considering your 1-2GB graphics card effectively halves what might be available. The Velox includes full 64-bit support unleashing the full potential of its high-end hardware, applications and games. We offer options for all versions of Windows® 64 bit. A 64-bit operating system can process twice as much information as a 32-bit version, and can use significantly more random access memory (in theory 2^64 or 18 exabytes, but practically 128GB, ad of yet RAM stick densities limit it to 24GB but that will change).	Large Screen and High resolution support - To appreciate the power of the Velox you really need to see it on a large, fast, bright, high contrast monitor with accurate colour representation. Ideally we’d recommend a widescreen LCD from 24in upwards, with high contrast (at least 10,000:1) and with fast response times (5ms or less). The monitor options offered will allow you to run at the highest quality and resolution option settings without ghosting or artefacts. The graphics power in the Velox is capable of resolutions above HD’s 1080p. Together with the high definition multi-channel audio card option it represents an ideal platform for video and music editing, 3D modelling or enjoying a Blu-ray movie.
Storage - Hard drives - The Velox's options allow you to flexibly choose whether you want a high performance (in excess of 400MB/s sustained read transfer rates) or high capacity (over 8TB) storage subsystem, or both. Our recommendation is to go for two storage volumes and setup one as a 'System' for Windows and the other as a 'Data' and applications the options we've provided reflect this. That’s enough capacity to store thousands of cinematic feature films and millions of music titles. You can choose RAID 0 (striping) to double, triple or quadruple read transfer rates or RAID 1 to increase data security with a simultaneous online backup (mirroring). Alternatively RAID5 will provide both a secure backup and higher performance with the ability to hot swap a drive should it fail. With more than one RAID controller onboard you can choose to have multiple RAID sets to use as System and Data drives for example. We offer extreme industrial storage options with separate RAID controller cards, Solid State Drives (SSD’s) and 15000rpm Enterprise Class drives.	Memory Performance - The Velox has 6GB of triple channel DDR3 1866MHz low latency memory as standard. Together with almost 50% more memory bandwidth offered by Core i7 this ensures that data retrieval is seamless and lag-free. You can optionally add up to 12GB of memory with speeds over 2GHz for unprecedented encoding, decoding and multitasking capabilities. The combination of high speed disk and memory in the Tetrad offer the shortest possible load and execution times. Engineering out bottlenecks and reducing the natural latency and delays inherent in the component subsystems increases your multitasking abilities, allowing for more complex applications, extreme gaming, 3D content creation, video and music editing. The typical high street PC design is engineered to meet the undemanding needs of the internet, email, word processing and spreadsheets. Our selected combination of high speed low latency DDR3 memory, Intel® Core™ i7 processors, X58 chipset, multi-GPU technology, and Cryo Boost™ Triple Overclocking and Optimisation combine to deliver a powerful professional multimedia system.
Soundcard and Optical drives - To experience that fully immersive and realistic experience 7.1 high definition surround sound is essential from the incredible Xonar D2X sound card installed. We experience the world around us using all our senses simultaneously and sound provides us with the second most important of those senses. The Velox is engineered to enable you to experience the fidelity of fine and expressive musical instruments and the sharp crashes and thundering bass of special effects in PC games, movies and music with 3D imaging and placement of sound sources. The Xonar D2X is the reference card in fidelity, low noise (hiss) and accurate sound reproduction, while all the time unloading the CPU of audio work freeing up yet more performance.
