Help yourself to the free tools below that we use (amongst others) to benchmark, test and score the performance of Cryo PC's.  In most cases these are links to the authoritative download site.

Benchmarking tools

3DMark and PCMark - probably the best known of the 3D graphics and CPU benchmarking tools.  Standard versions available free for personal use.  Also a good stability check if run continuously.

HDTach - benchmarks disk IO and seek time performance.

HDTune - as with HDTach but has a different presentation preference between the two tools is usually personal.  Both compliment each other quite well.

Stability Testing

Prime95 - Calculates Mersenne prime numbers ultimately to discover new Prime numbers (using a GRID computing model).

Orthos - Uses complex mathematical calculations to stress CPU and memory selectively.  Can stress up to two cores of the CPU, so run two instances and check the processor affinity to stress all four cores of a quad.

SuperPI - Calculates PI to infinite precision, stresses CPU and memory over time.  See if you can set a new record for the time taken to calculate prime to n precision!

System monitoring

nTune and nVidia monitor - nVidia's own tools for tuning and monitoring their chipset and graphics cards.  The monitor tool is poor on non nVidia chipset boards, and isnt really the best even on nVidias own boards.  Generally

RivaTuner - a better tool for tuning graphics card performance with the bonus it also works well with ATI GPU's.

Asus ProbeII - good monitoring tool from Asus for their boards.  Also works on many other manufacturers boards.

Useful driver and software updates

nVidia driver wizard - for chipset and graphics card driver updates.  Check this regularly and download WHQL approved drivers only.  Beta drivers should generally be avoided they will likely have some stability issues.

eVGA - for BIOS and tools updates

Gigabyte - for BIOS and tools updates

Asus - for BIOS and tools updates

Abit - for BIOS and tools updates
