The Cryo Graphite is born out of the Custom PC Magazine Dream PC 2009. All that has made Cryo PC’s special has been used to maximum effect in the Graphite. The design goals were aligned to the aims of the competition and distilled down to five key objectives:
1. Achieve the maximum reliable performance available balanced across the CPU, 3D graphics acceleration, memory bandwidth and storage subsystem,
2. Create a practical machine in a similar sized case to a conventional tower sized PC
3. Minimise noise and use standardised components that can easily be upgraded to new future technologies,
4. Create a plain and simple, but elegant look with little fuss, convenience and practicality. A machine that would look at home in the home office or the workplace,
5. Minimise the cost and the need for professional technical maintenance or intervention.
Using the record breaking Cryo Velox Phase design as a base Cryo PC were able to get a stunning machine with breathtaking performance.
The Graphite has not only met the design goals but in every department it has exceeded expectations. Before the first prototype was released to Custom PC magazine in July its performance envelope was pushed to its practical limit and tested against a number of synthetic benchmarks. In two of those benchmarks it immediately broke the current performance records in many others it matched or closely rivalled current records. The new records included Custom PC benchmark where it scored 2,990 and 3DMark Vantage where it scored 43,321! Clock speed stability was achieved at close to 5GHz while running all known stability tests to ensure ongoing reliability the final version released to Custom PC was dropped to a more modest 4.7GHz.
In the competition it was way out in front in terms of performance benefits with a core clock speed almost 300MHz higher than any other manufacturer was able to produce. In Custom PC's varied benchmarks it dominates all categories with HyperThreading enabled, see test results tab for more details.

Custom PC ran all the 2009 Dream PC's through a series of tests and published the results. We thought you would find these results interesting if we included them here and useful in making your own decisions as to what component choices will work best for you. When Custom PC ran our tests they did not also run them with HyperThreading on, as was the case with the other PC's in the group test. We left HyperThreading off as for most games it is less than useful, or worse still aggravates performance, but over time that situation is improving. We have since run these very same tests on the Graphite for you with HyperThreading Enabled (HT is a simple BIOS CPU configuration that can be simply enabled or disabled as required). Test results are as follows (Graphite HT indicates HT enabled):
