Music Editing & Production Never before has the desktop PC made so much power available to the sound engineer and producer. Whether amateur or professional a powerful PC can affordably release full creative talent to concentrate on the finest quality production. You can rapidly create and edit projects and manage your collections of samples effortlessly and reliably.
The New Nehalem platform provides up to 24 simultaneous threads of execution to support music production multi-tasking activities. With the capability to support over 100GB of memory and 16TB or more of storage it offers more than you need now and as much as you could imagine for the future. Multiple processing cores together with high memory and storage bandwidth provide 'hourglass' and stutter free smooth seamless uninterrupted access to your digital media content. Of utmost importance to the creation of audio material is accurate real-time access to tracks and the ability to retain many items of work in main memory simultaneously for instant access and fine control over the final output. Sound Accuracy and Fidelity All sound engineers appreciate that good quality audio production is dependent on every item in the chain from source through Codec's, to pre-amplifiers, mixers, amplification, the loudspeaker and finally listening room itself (whether it be an anechoic chamber, dance club an auditorium or someone's living room). While the latter elements are beyond the control of the music producer any adverse effect of the editing equipment on the intended output will tend multiply in effect as it goes further down the chain producing final output that was certainly not intended. For computer based audio production the source content is being brought together on the computer and then cut and edited into a track or tracks. Clearly no matter how good the source of the original audio was if the subsequent editing equipment is not up to the mark the final output will suffer. This concept is felt so important in domestic and professional hi-fi equipment that the value of good quality interconnects is well appreciated and special defence grade cables, connectors and cryogenically treated precious metal conductors are used to ensure the signal is carried with minimal loss of integrity. The cost of good quality connectors can rival the cost of the reproduction equipment itself.
Content Creation & Access Content creation on the PC where the PC is the source it is clearly more fundamental that the PC itself be of satisfactory quality and no extraneous noise, distortion or interference be allowed to pollute the purity of the intended content. High quality DAC's and discrete components on the electrical audio path and a range of balanced and unbalanced, digital and analogue interconnects are available to offer unrivalled flexibility and ultra fidelity recording and reproduction. Only a true audiophile or music lover can fully appreciate the difference ultra fidelity standards make to professional quality editing and reproduction.
Tackling ObsolescenceA Cryo PC is a modular and component based system that can be selectively upgraded and replaced over time so you have an editing and reproduction asset that will ultimately provide a great many years of service. Many of our customers have gone through three generations of processor and yet still have their original case, cooling system and power supply. Our philosophy is that good quality basic components are an investment that will last. Our Upgrade Assurance policy stands by this claim in providing you with a convenient route to upgrade and replace components over time. Unlike most manufacturers we believe in maintain, recycle and upgrade rather than replace.Eliminating Unwanted Acoustics Whether rack mounted in an audio equipment room or in a standard desktop tower chassis unwanted noise in or near a listening and recording environment is undesirable. All our audio systems come with specially designed cases and acoustic damping material installed inside to absorb the noise of fans, power supplies and high frequency electronics. Where fans are used we choose large diameter low rpm fans that emit far less acoustic noise than a high frequency small fan. For those with desktop tower systems located in the recording environment we can provide completely silent systems that are passively water cooled and have no fans inside whatsoever. They are so quiet its impossible to tell whether they are switched on or not other than by looking at the screen or power light.
