• Connectivity to other media equipment and sources is important so we can provide support for SDI Capture of multiple sources and Output, synchronisation, graphics-to-video output for real-time compositing, support for SMPTE standards (i.e. 3G, 2K, HD and SD) through 75ohm BNC connectors.

How can I customise my Cryo Desktop PC?

We provide a whole host of options designed to make your PC fit your unique requirements. We choose our component options very carefully and if it doesn't make the grade it doesn't go into the design or in the options list. We also try to avoid option combinations that just don't make sense. It's one of the reasons we don't offer SLI or Crossfire graphics as standard, as it simply doesn't make financial sense to buy two graphics cards if one very powerful one will meet your needs and only take up one precious PCIe x16 slot, so we don't do it.

You might prefer one type of sound card over another, or one type of graphics instead of the one we recommend you are free to choose whatever you like out of our huge range of selected quality options and we will build it for you. We provide you with a good range of options we know work well together so you can be confident whatever you choose you won't be making any compromises.

Are Cryo Custom PC's the best?

We could go on to tell you we make the best performing PC's on the market, but everyone makes that claim now don't they. Instead we'll just point you to our pages of benchmarks and awards and say take a look at some of our benchmark records and compare them with the competition. Only sometimes that might be hard as our competition doesn't always publish their benchmarks. I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why they might not want to do that.

So what do you get with a Professional PC from us

• Extreme Processors - well no matter which CPU you go for from us you will get Extreme Performance from Cryo Boost, even our entry level design which uses the mid range Quad performs faster than a standard Intel Extreme processor as it runs at over 3.9GHz. If you go for the Velox and the Extreme Cooling and processor you might be lucky hit the magic 5GHz. To put it in context it's unlikely that even the best performing Intel processor will come out of the factory at this speed inside the next three years! So for at least this long you have a performance advantage. If there's one thing modern media and graphics will need in spades it's lots of processing power, this is unlikely to change.
   
• Quad Core - We don't try to palm you off with Core 2 Duo processors, a lot of OEM's are still building with Duos to deplete inventory but because we build on-demand we don't have that problem. In terms of retail prices there is little between the price of a Quad and a Duo and it makes absolutely no sense for most applications to build with them any more. Quad core is the way to go most new software is being built to take advantage of multi-threading and with 8-way HyperThreaded processors here to stay with Core i7 you would be mad to settle for less.
   
• Lots of Disk Space - you just can't have to much of it and if you run out it's a real pain. For the small additional cost we give you a whole Terabyte as standard with anything above the entry level Quad, and offer you RAID for reliability and performance as standard with almost all products.
   
• A Quality Case worthy of it's contents - it saddens us to see the cream of computer components in a cheap and tatty case that scratches you like an angry kitten whenever you try to change any of the parts inside. We expect you to have one of our high performance computers for some time to come. So you are going to want to add or change things every now and then. Our cases are solid aluminium not pressed steel, they are anodised, not painted so the finish doesn't flake, lose it's lustre and peel. Our cases are tool-less so that you can take almost everything out without needing a screwdriver, a socket set and a degree in electronics.
   
• Graphics performance when you need it - For 3D rendering and modelling we offer the latest cards and present you with options graded by performance at each price point so you can make informed decisions.
